Cam Ranh Location Review

Condé Nast Traveler magazine recently listed Cam Ranh as one of the best international travel destinations in the world. They ranked alongside the likes of Monte Carlo and Cannes.

Why is this semi-obscure location so raved about?

There are actually a number of reasons. And in this article you’ll discover the key factors which have critics raving about Cam Ranh.

Namely, we’ll look at the location, atmosphere, and amenities.

Ready?

Why Visit Cam Ranh?

Cam Ranh is virtually unknown to most Westerners. And that’s a huge part of the appeal. The city’s located along Vietnam’s Pacific Coast, and is rarely visited by foreigners. It’s a beach town without the crowds of tourists.

Instead, you get huge swaths of white sand and glistening sea, all to yourself.

The beautiful oceanfront views and lack of tourists make this an excellent place for relaxing and enjoying the area’s natural atmosphere.

Additionally, there are other activities too. Can Ranh has an excellent golf course, center for oceanography, and the nearby Vinh Hy village. Also, the Nui Chua National Park is a short drive away. If you like nature, mountains, hiking, waterfalls, and luscious jungle, this is an awesome experience.

Trekking to the summit of Nui Chua Mountain yields some breathtaking views. It’s fun to look down over the bright green treetops, rolling hills, and bubbling streams.

Plus, at the end of the day, you can always head back to Cam Ranh and unwind while watching the sunset.

It’s a good sendoff to an exciting day.

Where To Stay In Cam Ranh

There are a wide range of accommodations in Cam Ranh. You’ll find everything from some bare bones hostels for backpacker types (these are mostly located away from the beach and more towards Nui Chua), all the way up to exquisite five-star resorts.

One of the best places to stay, and a location that’s favorably reviewed by Condé Nast Traveler, is the The Anam Resort.

(Here’s The View You’ll Get)

This is a top-tier destination, and (as mentioned in Condé Nast Traveler) goes toe to toe with anything found in Cannes or Monte Carlo. You’re getting great staff, private beaches, three swimming pools, a gym, tennis courts, fine dining, and a spectacular private villa.

After staying here for my birthday, I can honestly say that the The Anam Resort is truly outstanding.

If you’re looking to treat yourself to something special, book a room here.

It’s a five-star resort located in one of Vietnam’s most scenic oceanfront venues.

Closing Thoughts

Cam Ranh is really off the beaten path for most travelers. In fact, I even have Vietnamese friend’s who’ve never been there.

Because of this secluded and overlooked nature, it’s one of the country’s “hidden gems.” Pristine beaches, natural beauty, and a relaxing environment, all unspoiled by hordes of tourists. You come here, there are no lines of sweaty travelers or crowds fighting each other for space.

Instead it’s nice, quiet, and laid back. Perfect for escaping civilization and being left alone with your own thoughts.

Everything you want in a beach town..

P.S. If you’re looking for other fun, coastal getaways, check out the nearby city of Vung Tau. It’s a more urban and developed city, but still plenty of fun.
