Jimmy Buffett Mindset

Jimmy Buffett died.

The man made a lot of catchy tunes. Popularized the island lifestyle. And became a billionaire while doing so. All while living an adventurous life.

Respect.

In honor of Jimmy Buffett, here are two success lessons you can borrow from the iconic musician.

1. Live Somewhere Tropical

Later in life, Buffett moved to New York.

But during his prime, Jimmy Buffett lived in the Caribbean – a place that inspired many of his songs.

The Caribbean is a pretty subjective place (and I’m personally not a fan), but you should take a page from Buffett and move somewhere tropical. Warm weather. Hot girls. Swimming. Fishing. Boating. It’s all there.

On top of this, warm weather and ample sunshine is something of a natural antidepressant.

Every day feels good when you’re living in paradise.

2. Build And Buy Assets

It’s astounding to read about Jimmy Buffett’s business empire.

The man owned restaurants, retailers, hotels, and even partnered with a casino and retirement community.

All while making music and going on tour.

To quote Warren Buffett (no relation to Jimmy):

If you don’t find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die.

And while you may not be able to leverage your music catalogue into a popular restaurant chain, you can build or buy assets.

Either through starting your own business.

Or investing in income producing assets.

Warm, tropical living and a big bank roll. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Hope this helps and RIP to Jimmy Buffett!
