Three Best Budget Cities Vietnam

Are you looking for a nice, inexpensive place to live in Asia? Tired of reading about played out towns like Chiang Mai? Then this article is for you! In it, you’ll discover the three best budget cities Vietnam has to offer.

These are all nice places, near the ocean, and surprisingly cheap.

Each of these locations provides terrific value and is well worth a look.

1. Vung Tau

This is a wonderful beach town about one hour south of Ho Chi Minh City. Vung Tau is a popular resort town with locals. It’s also home to some of Vietnam’s best casinos, golf courses, and a dog track.

(Lotus Apartment Hotel)

Despite being a tourist hotspot, the cost of living is quite low. Here’s the Lotus Apartment Hotel. They’re offering rooms for less about $20 a night. This works out to around $600 per month. Not bad! Especially since you’re living in a resort town near the ocean.

Vung Tau is one of the best budget cities Vietnam has. It’s definitely a place to stay if you’re looking for a great long-term location at a reasonable price.

2. Da Nang

(Danang Moment Serviced Apartment)

This is one of the best budget cities Vietnam (or any other Asian country) has.

Da Nang is a great beach town offering excellent weather and plenty of outdoor activities.

While much bigger than Vung Tau (Da Nang has a similar popular to Los Angeles), the city is surrounded by water on one side and mountains on the other. This makes it a fantastic place if you like hiking, surfing, or swimming.

Additionally, Da Nang is a huge vacation destination for both locals and foreign travelers.

Lastly, the city is fairly inexpensive. Here’s the Danang Moment Serviced Apartment on Agoda costing less than $15 per night, or under $450 per month. That’s a terrific value considering Da Nang’s size and popularity.

3. Nha Trang

(Nha Trang Beach Apartments)

Another big resort town, Nha Trang attracts high rollers from around the world. The city hosts international yachting competitions each year, and Donald Trump owns a nearby casino/hotel.

While smaller than Da Nang, Nha Trang is still a nice, quiet beach town. It’s less hectic than some of the other cities on this list, giving it more of a laid-back vibe. If you’re just looking for a fun place to relax and unwind, this is an excellent option.

Lastly, the cost of living remains low. Nha Trang Beach Apartments is a property I found through Agoda, and they offer nice beachfront apartments for less than $30 per night.

This means you can rent a place in Nha Trang for under $1,000 a month.
