The Thanh Dat Resort is a nice, quiet getaway located just outside of Can Tho.

It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Nothing beats sitting outside in warm weather, reading a book while you sip an ice-cold drink. Enjoying the tranquil surroundings as all the stress and tension in your body slowly melts away.

It’s something I’ve experienced many times while staying at the Thanh Dat Resort.

Thanh Dat Resort Overview

Before we get any further, I want to make one thing absolutely clear. The Thanh Dat Resort is very much a “diamond in the rough.”

How so?

Well, first of all it’s at the end of an old dirt road. Aside from a few tiny shops and a creepy old cemetery, there’s nothing else.

And the resort itself?

It’s very old school. Rooms are nice, clean, and basic. The staff is helpful, and the whole property is filled with huge plants and large fish ponds.

It’s certainly nice, but (by no means) is it a five-star destination.

There’s no swimming pool, golf course, or annoyingly cheerful “activities director.”

And that’s okay.

The Thanh Dat Resort is for relaxing and taking things slow, not rushing around from one activity to the next.

This is a place that’s perfect for enjoying an iced coffee while you’re fully engrossed in your favorite novel.

It’s nice and quiet (since there’s nothing else around), leaving you with nothing but the gentle sounds of nature.

What Are The Rooms Like?

As mentioned before, rooms are comfortable and clean. They’re very basic, but nice.

You get a bed, TV, complimentary bottled water, and free WiFi.

Additionally, breakfast is included with your stay.

The resort’s kitchen does an excellent job, and all the tables are outside in a nice garden area. Eating breakfast while surrounded by beautiful flowers and gorgeous plants is always enjoyable.

Aside from this, the resort also offers a few extra activities. You’re able to fish here, get a massage, or relax in the on-site spa.

Standard stuff, but it’s relaxing.

On top of this, the Thanh Dat Resort is just a few minutes outside of Can Tho (the city’s downtown area is actually right across the river). This makes it easy to go into town if you want to do any sightseeing during the day or partying at night.

Is The Thanh Dat Resort Worth Staying At?

If you want to hit up Can Tho’s bar scene or explore the city, stay at the West Hotel.

But, if you’re in need of some quiet time (who isn’t?) and want to recharge your (metaphorical) batteries, the Thanh Dat Resort is an excellent vacation destination.
