To help you out (and save you from needless frustration), I’ve ranked these ventures from easiest to hardest. This way you’re able to start making money as quickly as possible, while slowly working on more difficult business ideas in the background.

It’s a great system for piling up huge amounts of cash.

Anyway, here are three great online businesses to get started with:

1. Freelance Writing

I’ve mentioned this before, but freelance writing is the fastest (and easiest) way to make money online. In fact, many people turn a profit the very day they begin.

All you need is an Internet connection and some clients.

Luckily, there are a ton of great places to find quick writing jobs. In fact, here are three of the most popular:

1. Fiverr – A great place to get started. The site pays you $4 per gig, which doesn’t sound like much. However, by doing easy writing assignments you’ll easily make $12 to $16 an hour. And sometimes more. Case in point, here’s a Forbes article about a woman earning $38,000-$48,000 a month off Fiverr.
2. Upwork – This is a good freelancing site. You look for work, send applications, and then work for various clients. What’s nice about Upwork is its wide variety of different jobs.
3. Craigslist – Craigslist is a great place for finding work, but most people don’t realize this. There’s a whole “writing gigs” section, with tons of odd jobs.

Getting Clients Is Easy

Learn to write a good job application, and master the basics of selling. This might sound complicated, but it’s actually quite simple.

Here’s a good article on writing job applications. Follow its advice and you’ll be light years ahead of the competition. Book Yourself Solid, by Michael Port is an excellent guide to cultivating lifelong customers. Read it cover-to-cover and watch your business boom.

Likewise, there are numerous titles on making money as a freelance writer.

These are the best ones:

• The Well-Fed Writer, by Peter Bowerman – An oldie-but-goodie. This is one of the original freelancing books. It’s got lots of useful information for beginners, and shows you how to set up your own writing business.
• Secrets Of A Freelance Writer, by Bob Bly – The best freelancing book I’ve ever read. Walks you through every aspect of the business, and shows you how to start earning $50 – $75 an hour.
• Start & Run A Copywriting Business, by Steve Slaunwhite – Here’s a somewhat niche title. This book is all about writing freelance sales letters for well-established companies and businesses. Sounds a little weird, but I personally used the advice to land a few high-profile clients (one law firm and one dentist) who pay nearly $100 an hour for my work. If earning that much is something you’d enjoy, read this book.

Freelance writing is one of the easiest businesses in the world. Anyone who’s graduated high school English will have no trouble making money as a writer.

2. E-Commerce

You’ve probably heard the word “E-commerce” before. Basically, this simply means that you sell goods electronically.

This could be anything from an eBay store, to video courses hosted on a private website.

Selling eBooks and special reports are my favorite E-commerce business.

Why?

Because they cost nothing to create, are easy to market, and offer high profit margins. Plus, they’re a great form of passive income.

Once you’ve created one of these products, you’re able to sell it over and over again.

All it takes is a good idea and a few hours of effort. After that, you’ve established a money-making machine that generates passive income forever.

Case in point, last month’s royalty check (from self-publishing Amazon Kindle books) paid for a nice weekend vacation to Can Tho.

That’s free money for vacations, dates, and other fun stuff.

When you’re ready to start earning passive income as well, here are two great guides:

1. Small Reports Fortune – Great for creating highly profitable special reports. An excellent resource for building up your own information empire.
2. Write. Publish. Repeat., by Sean Platt and Johnny B. Truant – Two multimillionaire authors share their secrets for making money off Amazon Kindle. Fascinating read with tons of actionable advice.

Once you’ve created your product, watch the money start rolling in (albeit slowly at first).

3. Sales

Sales is tough. And most people who try it fail.

However, if you’re willing to work at it, you’ll make a fortune through selling. I’ve had days where I moved $1,200+ in goods and services.

And that’s the low-end of the spectrum!

Some master sellers (like Eben Pagan or Jeff Walker) make $10,000 to $50,000 in an afternoon.

There’s no reason you can’t make $100, $200, or even $500 per day. All from selling various products or services.

Best of all, selling is very easy to get into.

It’s competitive (don’t get me wrong), but the bar of entry is virtually nonexistent. This is especially true for selling online.

Internet sales (or affiliate marketing as it’s called), is something you can start on today.

Websites like ClickBank, Amazon Associates, and Commission Junction don’t require any prerequisites. As such, you can join them immediately and start selling their products that very same day.

And, when it comes to the art of selling, here are some useful resources I recommend:

• The Adweek Copywriting Handbook, by Joseph Sugarman – Covers all aspects of the sales and selling process. Long read, but definitely worth it.
• Selling 101, by Zig Ziggler – This is a short read (100 pages), that’s packed full of useful sales information. Great for new marketers and old pros alike.
• Stopwatch Copywriting, by Jason Fladlien – An excellent course for writing profitable sales letters in as little time as possible. If you’re getting into affiliate marketing, invest in this program.

Studying these gives you a massive advantage in your marketplace. In fact, by simply knowing how to sell, you’re already in a position to out-earn most of your competitors.

Making money is easy. Especially when you’re living in Vietnam.

There are countless opportunities for building up new sources of income. Some are very straightforward (like freelance writing). Others take a little more time and effort (such as learning to sell).
