PopAds Review (Edgy Content $$$)

This website uses Google AdSense. But PopAds is a better, more lucrative service. This PopAds review will explain why the network is great for collecting ad revenue and what type of sites it is good for.

If you’re looking to earn some extra passive income, this review will help you immensely.

PopAds is an ad network that, you guessed it, displays pop-up advertising. These are the types of ads that you might see on certain “adult” websites. Or maybe on a gambling site.

In fact, I use PopAds on a small football betting site that I run. Because I use casino affiliate links, I can’t run Google AdSense there. And PopAds is the perfect alternative. This football site is low-traffic. It usually gets 75 – 200 visitors on a normal day, though there is an uptick during NFL season and especially in weeks preceding “The Big Game.”

The above revenue screenshot shows yesterday’s earnings (Wednesday, September 29th). I collected $0.18 cents in 24 hours, which sounds embarrassingly bad.

But, here’s what you have to remember:

Ad revenue is the admissions ticket people pay to enter your site.

You still have other means of making money on your site, like affiliate links or selling your own product.

Anyway, back to the football site.

During that same day, I received 86 visitors to my site. That works out to paying $2 per 1,000 views. Again, that might not sound like much. But remember, this is pure passive income from installing ad code once. Every page view you get is putting a fraction of a cent into your pocket. On top of this, a good YouTube channel makes about $3 – $5 per 1,000 video views.

So, because it’s geared towards edgy content that Google Adsense won’t allow, PopAds pays you about the same per 1,000 views as a Jake Paul or PewDiePie would make.

Who Is PopAds For?

I don’t use PopAds on this site, only because I also use Amazon Affiliates. While you can control what types of advertising PopAds will display, I didn’t want to risk any TOS violations here.

However, on a site that’s not compatible with Google AdSense or Amazon Affiliates, PopAds is an excellent choice. You can run this network with content like gambling, adult entertainment, and even crypto (Google Ads are prohibited on certain DeFi sites). This is also a good option if you’re publishing articles or material that are politically incorrect or “fringe.”

I’ve even seen websites critical of big oil or big pharma that use networks like this one, because Google wouldn’t display ads on them.

If you own a website (or are thinking of starting one) and publish edgy content, you’ll want to use PopAds as your ad network. It pays very well per view, and is accommodating for a wide variety of niches and topics.
